By default, there is no easy way to change or edit in any way the “subject line” for messages sent from websites driven by popular Divi theme.
Normally in the subject line, the title of the website is used which looks really bad and Gmail stacks them all together because of the identical string of text.
Here you can learn how to change it. Unfortunately, there is no easy way for now and some changes in the core code need to be made.
Here are the steps:
-go to and find the file /wp-content/themes/Divi/includes/builder/module/ContactForm.php on the server and edit it. You can use for it your favorite FTP system like FileZilla or find the right file from the WordPress system and edit it there.
– find the line of code:
__( 'New Message From %1$s%2$s', 'et_builder' ),
-and change to :
__( 'message from: '.$processed_fields_values[email][value], 'et_builder' ),
-save your changes
now you will get the result :
subject: message from: email@example.com
You can change [email] to [name] in the code snippet abowe if you want to get the client’s name instead
That is it. Let me know in the comments below if you need any help or additional guidance.
